On the occasion of the 15th of Sha’ban, the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (A.S.), followers of Grand Ayatollah Sayed Sadiq Hussaini Shirazi performed camel sacrifices in various Iraqi cities. This act followed the Grand Ayatollah’s recommendation to offer sacrifices for the Imam’s well-being and to distribute the meat to the needy. Among the groups that participated in this tradition were the Masab Ruqayya (sa) Congregation, the Shabab Aabis (A.S.) Mawkib, the Imam Hasan (A.S.) Mourning Procession in Baghdad’s Shula district, and the Al-Wahi Institute in Najaf.
