As part of its ongoing intellectual activities, the Center for Studies and Research of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi in Holy Karbala held a scholarly session titled “Social Awareness in a Culture of Pluralism: Establishing Stability and Countering Marginalization.” The event was attended by a group of legal experts, academics, and media professionals, organized within the framework of the center’s weekly sessions at the headquarters of the Al-Naba Cultural and Media Foundation in Holy Karbala.
The session was chaired by Dr. Khaled Asadi, a researcher at the Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Center. He began by emphasizing the diversity of human perspectives and God’s divine tradition of allowing people freedom in choosing their life paths. He then referenced the example of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), noting that despite opposition from leading figures of various sects, the Imam never withheld knowledge from them and instead nurtured them with his intellectual generosity.
The session further highlighted the importance of proper social institutions in promoting a culture of freedom and responsibility. Participants, drawing on the views of the late Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Hosseini Shirazi (may his soul be sanctified), stressed that a healthy social system guarantees legitimate freedoms, security, employment, and the overall wellbeing of society.
