The Al-Mustaqbal Center for Strategic Studies, affiliated with the religious authority in the holy city of Karbala, held an intellectual seminar titled "The Role of Non-Governmental Organizations in Strengthening Healthy Electoral Outcomes" at the Al-Naba Cultural and Media Institute.

The event was attended by directors of research centers, university professors, and media professionals. During the seminar, Professor Haider Abdul Sattar Al-Ajwedi, a researcher at the Al-Mustaqbal Center, presented a paper discussing the role of NGOs in electoral monitoring, raising public awareness, encouraging participation, and reducing electoral violations.

In his remarks, he highlighted the fall of the authoritarian regime in 2003 and emphasized that the weakened trust in official institutions has made the presence of civil society organizations in the electoral process even more crucial. He noted that over the past two decades, NGOs have played a significant role in promoting transparency and the integrity of elections in Iraq.
