On the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, the World Organization for the Elimination of Violence (Free Muslims) issued the following statement:
In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Every year, on June 4, the world pauses to reflect on the horrific acts of aggression endured by innocent children across the globe.
This day, officially recognized by the United Nations, is not only a somber reminder of the human tragedies that our children suffer, but also a resounding call to action, urging all of us to uphold our responsibilities in protecting them and ensuring a safe and prosperous future for the next generation.
The World Organization for the Elimination of Violence (Free Muslims) is deeply troubled and outraged by the ongoing violence against children—whether in areas of armed conflict, impoverished and marginalized communities, or even within families and local societies.
Children, with their innocence and vulnerability, are among the worst affected by wars and conflicts. They are displaced and left homeless, deprived of education and healthcare, and, in some cases, are even forced to fight in brutal wars or subjected to exploitation and abuse.
We emphasize that targeting children is a heinous crime that stands in stark opposition to all human, moral, and legal values. Protecting children and ensuring their fundamental rights—especially the rights to life, safety, education, and development—is a shared responsibility that falls on the shoulders of governments, international organizations, civil society, and individuals alike.
On this day, Free Muslims reaffirms its unwavering commitment to employing all available means in pursuit of the following objectives:
The future of our world depends on the protection and empowerment of our children. Let us stand united in transforming this day into a new beginning for a safer, more compassionate, and just world for our innocent children.
