On the occasion of the first ten days of Muharram 1447 AH, Shia Muslims in Bahrain are holding mourning ceremonies at Ma'tam al-Sakin Hussainiya under the supervision of Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sheikh Abdulshahid al-Sitraawi, representative of the Marja’iyyah.

The faithful and mourners of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) attend these gatherings to commemorate the tragedy of Karbala and benefit from speeches by Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Muhammad Ali Mahfouz, who discusses the Ashura uprising and the tribulations endured by the purified Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

These ceremonies will continue through the 13th of Muharram.
