On the eve of Muharram al-Haram 1447 AH and in celebration of the blessed Eid al-Ghadir, cultural and religious programs were held by centers affiliated with the Marja’iyyah of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husayni Shirazi (may his shadow be extended) in Kabul, Afghanistan.

At the Marja’iyyah office in Kabul, a group of scholars, preachers, and congregational prayer leaders gathered in anticipation of Muharram. The gathering began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and continued with elegies (mourning poetry). Following this, Hujjat al-Islam Muhaqqiq Kusha, Zaki, and Rahimi emphasized the importance of Ashura preaching and called for the effective use of Muharram as an opportunity to spread the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

At the Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her) complex—one of the centers affiliated with the Marja’iyyah in Kabul—a grand celebration was held to mark the Eid of the Guardianship (Wilayah) of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him). This event included Qur’an recitation, poetry recitals, choir performances, and devotional songs. Speeches were also delivered by Hujjat al-Islam Muhaqqiq Kusha and a number of young speakers. At the conclusion of the event, winners of the “Voice of Ghadir” competition were honored with valuable prizes.

These programs were organized in accordance with the guidance of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husayni Shirazi (may his shadow be extended), with the goal of promoting the culture of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and preparing for the religious activities of the month of Muharram in the city of Kabul.
