Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Calls the Son of Grand Ayatollah Fayyad Following the Passing of the Esteemed Religious Authority

Following the passing of the esteemed religious authority Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Ishaq Fayyad (may God bless his soul), Grand Religious Authority Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husseini Shirazi (may God extend his life) expressed his condolences and sympathies during a phone call with the late Ayatollah’s son.

During the conversation, His Eminence expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of this prominent jurist, describing his passing as a great loss for the seminaries and the Shia world. He prayed to the Almighty for the elevation of the late scholar’s station and for patience and reward for his bereaved family. His Eminence also highlighted the scientific and religious contributions of Grand Ayatollah Fayyad, praising his role in teaching, mentoring students, and safeguarding the jurisprudential foundations of the seminaries. The son of the late Religious Authority expressed his appreciation for Grand Ayatollah Shirazi’s expression of sympathy, stating that this call provides comfort to the family.

It is worth noting that Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Ishaq Fayyad (may God bless his soul) was a prominent religious authority at the Holy Najaf Seminary in Iraq. Born in 1931 in Afghanistan, he spent many years in Najaf studying and teaching advanced jurisprudence and principles of religion, while mentoring numerous students. He was considered one of the distinguished students of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Abu al-Qasim al-Khoei and left behind numerous scholarly works in the fields of jurisprudence and principles.
